Download and Login
To install the SlantView 3 Beta, download the latest packet release of SlantView. You will find SlantView 2 and 3 in the installer.
Note: Some SlantView 2 features may not be available in the SlantView 3 Beta.
Your login information is the same for analytics.slantrange.com or the login you are currently using for SlantView 2.0.
Map View
Once you log into SlantView 3, you will be presented with a map view displaying all datasets found in your data directories.
You can interact with your data directly through this map window or through the Data Management Panel (right-hand side). From the left-side panel, you can process datasets, load workspaces, manage data directories, and change your settings.
Creating Your Data Directory
The Manage Data Directories option is a new way to organize your SlantRange data on your computer. We recommend creating a data directory when you start working in SlantView 3 by selecting the Manage Data Directories option on the left-side panel. Next, add a path to the folder where you plan to store your SlantView data. Once created, SlantView will automatically scan that folder for new datasets each time you open SlantView 3 and you will see them appear in the map window and the Data Management Panel.
Data Management Panel
All referenced datasets will be shown in the Data Management Panel. From this view, you have the option to process a dataset, run a quick look, or run a data quality check. The data quality check quickly scans the dataset to ensure the data collected is usable. This tool is most valuable when used at the edge of the field to ensure a complete and high-quality dataset.
Processing a Dataset
SlantView 3 introduces the new redesigned SlantView processing workflow.
After selecting the dataset folder, you will be asked to add a Grower and Field name for your dataset. This information will be stored locally on your computer.
Next, you will be asked to create a Field Boundary. Once the field boundary is created, it will be saved for subsequent datasets. To set a vertex, left-click and to close the polygon double click.
The third step is to add your Crop Type and Growth Stage. If your crop type is not listed we recommend selecting “Unspecified”.
From here you will have the options to customize your processing options, map products, and map resolution. The map products currently included in SlantView 3 are Stress, Green NDVI, Red NDVI, and Red Edge NDVI.
Under Advanced Settings, you have the option to further alter the processing settings, export options, and system settings. The standard processing settings are recommended for most datasets.
Navigating Map Windows
Similar to previous versions of SlantView, you have a map and image window that you can interact with separately. To transfer control between the two windows simply double click. To collapse the two windows into one, click the arrow at the top of the ride side panel. From here, you can view individual images through the image footprint view.
